This indicator reflects the year-on-year change in estimated semiconductor sales growth in the Japanese market, based on standardized definitions and regional classifications from the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS). It includes semiconductor categories such as logic chips, memory, analog chips, optoelectronic components, and discrete devices. The data helps track shifts in momentum across the consumer electronics, automotive electronics, and IT hardware industries, and can also be cross-analyzed with data from the Asia-Pacific region.
The spring forecast is released in June and the fall forecast in December, projecting semiconductor sales figures for the region for the current and following year.
