Description
This indicator, published by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS), shows the year-over-year growth rate of annual sales for discrete semiconductors, such as rectifiers and transistors. These devices are widely used in power conversion, motor control, and automotive electronic systems. Growth is calculated as: (Current Year Forecast − Previous Year Forecast) ÷ Previous Year Forecast × 100%.
The spring forecast is released in June and the fall forecast in December, projecting semiconductor sales figures for the category for the current and following year.
