China's Shipbuilding Order Backlog is compiled and released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI). This indicator measures the volume of shipbuilding orders that have been received but not yet completed, providing crucial insights into the demand and workload of the shipbuilding industry.
The shipbuilding order backlog is calculated based on the total volume of orders received but not yet completed by shipbuilders, encompassing all types of vessels and warships currently under construction or awaiting construction.
Along with new orders and completed orders, the order backlog is one of the three major indicators in the shipbuilding industry. The global data source is Clarksons Research, while the China Shipbuilding Association adjusts the data based on China's statistical information and releases it monthly.
