The data is aggregated by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) from its 49 member companies, who report monthly through regional data collection agents that anonymize and transmit the data.
The three-month moving average smooths short-term fluctuations by averaging sales over the past three months, providing a clearer trend. The MoM growth rate compares the change between the current and previous month, helping to track short-term sales. Combined, they offer a more accurate view of semiconductor sales' short-term changes.
