This indicator measures the annual number of industrial robots shipped within Japan, broken down by application field. It reflects domestic demand across functions like electronic insertion, semiconductor handling, welding, and loading/unloading, indicating the degree of smart manufacturing and production automation.
The indicator is updated by the Japan Robot Association (JARA) in the middle of each year.
