SSE 180 Index

Macro

Description

The SSE 180 Index, compiled by the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), is a market-capitalization-weighted stock index.

The index originated from the SSE 30 Index, which saw its market capitalization proportion drop from 33% in 1996 to 10% in 2002. As a result, the Shanghai Stock Exchange decided to expand the index to 180 stocks in 2002, forming the SSE 180 Index.

Currently, the index consists of the top 180 A-shares based on a comprehensive ranking, representing the overall performance and operation of the Shanghai stock market.

Note: The comprehensive ranking considers the company's operational status, any default events, the integrity of financial statements, and whether there are significant irregularities in stock price movements.
