The shipbuilding completion volume data is released by the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry (CANSI), using deadweight tons as the calculation basis. The completion volume serves as an indicator of the shipbuilding industry's production capacity and is one of the three major shipbuilding indicators alongside new orders and holding orders. In 2023, when categorized by country, China's share in all three major indicators exceeded 50%, maintaining the world's leading market share for 14 consecutive years.
The global data source is from Clarksons Research, and CANSI publishes adjusted statistics based on China's data on a monthly basis.
