China's Q4 2025 current account goods surplus surged significantly to 21,960.20 hundred million RMB, jumping over 14.3% compared to the previous quarter's 19,209.63 hundred million RMB, setting a new historical record. Under US tariff pressure, the quarterly export value still defied the trend and grew by about 6.5%, becoming the absolute main force supporting the expansion of the current account surplus; however, analysts also warned that the weak domestic demand and capacity spillover issues underlying the high surplus will be key hidden concerns for future trade frictions.
