Description
The Hang Seng Index (HSI) is a market capitalization-weighted stock index compiled by Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited. It consists of the 50 largest and most liquid companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX), covering sectors such as finance, real estate, industrial, and utilities. The HSI is designed to represent the overall performance of the Hong Kong stock market. Given that many of its constituent companies are Chinese firms, the index is also regarded as a key indicator for tracking China's economic and corporate performance.
