The Japan Economy Watchers Survey Current Condition Index is released by the Cabinet Office. This survey covers eleven regions across the country and includes 2,050 individuals working in sectors sensitive to economic changes, such as those involved in household activities (e.g., retail, food services, and real estate), corporate activities (e.g., manufacturing and non-manufacturing), and employment-related fields. The index is compiled based on respondents' assessments of the current economic conditions and serves as a diffusion index reflecting the state of the economy.
When the index is above 50, it indicates that economic conditions are perceived as improving or expanding; when it is below 50, it suggests that economic conditions are perceived as deteriorating or contracting.
This data is released monthly, providing insights into the changes in Japan's current economic conditions for the previous month.
