China Registered Urban Unemployment is released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This indicator measures the number of registered unemployed people in the urban labor force. The registered unemployed people in urban areas refer to those who have non-agricultural household registration, are within a certain working age (16 years old to retirement age), have the ability to work, are unemployed and request for employment, and are registered with the local labor and security department. The number of people registered as unemployed is an important indicator of the health of the labor market and the overall economy.
