Description
China Average Wage of Employed Staff and Workers is published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China. This indicator measures the average income level of employed staff and workers across various industries. It is commonly used to observe wage levels and income distribution among employees. A higher average wage indicates a better income level, which may stimulate increased consumer spending, while a lower wage level might reflect economic challenges or income disparities.
Note: Employed staff and workers refer to those who work for an employer and have signed a labor contract, with wages, social insurance, and housing provident fund paid by the employer. This category also includes employees who are temporarily not working due to study, illness, or maternity leave but are still paid by the employer. Furthermore, it includes those who should have signed a labor contract but haven't yet, employees in probation periods, off-budget hired personnel (e.g., temporary workers), as well as those dispatched to work at other units but still receiving wages from their original employer (e.g., secondments or assignments to external units).
