Portugal Nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in US Dollars is compiled and released by the National Institute of Statistics (Instituto Nacional de Estatística, INE). This indicator measures the total market value of all final goods and services produced within the country during a specific period, valued at current market prices without adjusting for inflation. It is commonly used to assess the size and health of an economy. A higher GDP figure indicates a larger and potentially more prosperous economy, while a lower figure may signal economic challenges.
Nominal GDP is calculated by summing the value of all final goods and services produced domestically at their current market prices. It includes consumption, investment, government spending, and net exports (exports minus imports).
The data is typically updated quarterly, with preliminary estimates released approximately 45 days after the end of the quarter and final estimates released around 90 days after the quarter's end.
